Talk to Aliens: Emoji – First Devlog
Hello!
I’m participating in Mini Jam 185: Aliens with a small project called "Talk to Aliens: Emoji."
👾 Concept:
You’ve been abducted by aliens, and the only way to communicate with them is through emojis!
The aliens show you emojis, and you respond using a single button – short press, long press, or no press.
The meanings of the emojis are entirely up to your interpretation.
😏, 🔥, ⭐, 🤐 – what do they mean to the aliens?
The ending may change depending on the trust you build.
🎮 Current Progress:
-
Project set up and organized (Unity folder structure, scenes)
-
Itch.io page prepared with basic description
-
Core concept and ideas outlined
🖌️ Here’s a sneak peek of the early concept sketch for Talk to Aliens: Emoji!

This shows the planned interactions (short press, long press, double click, or no press) and how the alien speech bubble will work. A timer will be used to show the selection time limit.
💡 Next Steps (Planned):
-
Asset preparation or creation (emoji, UI, alien images)
-
Input logic setup and emoji display integration
-
Design branching endings and implement cutscenes/animations
-
Add audio effects, complete WebGL build, and publish the game
Stay tuned for more updates!
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy this unique journey into alien communication! 🚀
